The impetus for design springs from a need to present a message with a certain order and style and focus. What the look of a piece says with visual elements and placement can be as powerful--or more powerful--than the text. My own design inclinations tend toward the classical. Not the romantic (of which I'm not too fond) and not the gritty sort of contemporary design (which I like). Simplicity. Spare modernity. Stillness. A space where the clutter is cleared away and awareness and focus take the forefront. Much like my meditations, I guess. |
